Discover Groton

Located east of the Thames River in New London County, Groton is a regional center for commerce and industry. Its shoreline and many historical sites attract visitors from places far and wide.

Groton is centrally situated between New York City and Boston, MA, and is only fifteen miles from Rhode Island.

The Town of Groton is one of Southeastern Connecticut's more urban towns and has a population of just under 40,000.

Not to be confused with the Town of Groton itself, the City of Groton is an incorporated subdivision of the Town with its own government. City of Groton is about three square miles in area and offers a full range of municipal services and public utilities to it's population of around 10,000.

Rich in history and abundant with natural beauty, Groton is one of Connecticut's true treasures.
