“Capriccioso” – An Afternoon of Classical Music for Piano

The Riverfront Children’s Center presents their 5th annual Spring Classical Concert. Pianist Lucas Wong with a benefit recital of works by J. S. Bach, George Crumb, T. Patrick Carrabe, and Frederic Chopin. The concert will be held at the Sheffield Auditorium at the First Congregrational church of Old Lyme on Ferry Road.

A native of Canada, Lucas Wong is currently a teaching fellow at the Yale Department of Music, and visiting coach-accompanist of the Yale Opera and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music programs.
Mr. Wong is a multi-faceted pianist and a keen interpreter of contemporary works. He made his orchestral debut at age 21, playing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto with Canada’s UBC Symphony Orchestra and the New Westminster Symphony Orchestra. In 2004, he performed his debut solo recital at the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) Studio One in Vancouver. Since then, his artistry has taken him to some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals in the world, including New York City’s Carnegie Hall, the Banff Summer Music Festival in Canada, the Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon and music festivals at Montreal Centre Pierre-Peladeau and the Chan Center for the Performing Arts in Vancouver.

All student tickets are $10.00 with ID. $30.00 general admission tickets are available at the door while they last. All proceeds of the event benefit Riverfront’s Tuition Assistance Program for needy children.
