Mystic Art in the Evening

On Thursday, February 4, Mystic’s downtown galleries will host a collaborative gallery stroll from 6– 8 pm for the public.
The gallery stroll, Mystic Art in the Evening, is held the first Thursday of each month and features a wide array of artwork, from photography to hanging glass sculpture, antique art, and traditional media. The seven participating galleries are within walking distance of each other and downtown restaurants.
The Mystic Arts Center will also feature an artist talk by Old Saybrook glass artist Mundy Hepburn beginning at 6:30 pm.
Strollers can find a map of the participating galleries at each site and can easily spot the galleries by large balloons at each door. The event is free and fun for all ages. Wine and treats will be served.
Open Galleries:
Mystic Arts Center: Featuring Luminosity, the remarkable hanging electrified glass exhibition by Mundy Hepburn, which has been wowing audiences since it opened, and the Annual MAC Members Exhibition. Emporium Gallery: Opening Seasons – Metaphors, an exhibition of photography by Peter J. Crowley capturing the light and emotion of “thirty-eight years of motion made still.” On exhibition through March 1. Open daily at 15 Water Street. 860-536-3891
Trade Winds Gallery: Established in 1974, the gallery showcases original works of art from over a dozen well known local and regional artists and carries a growing selection of original antique maps and prints. 42 West Main St. 860-536-0119 www.tradewindsgallery.net.
