NewportFed is celebrating their new branch location at 445 Liberty Street, Pawcatuck with a Free Family Fun Day on June 13, 2009 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in their parking lot. The event will have the traveling touch tank from Mystic Aquarium, free gifts and giveaways all day long and chances to win tickets to the Connecticut Defenders, Regal Cinemas and Mystic Aquarium. The bank will be accepting donations of household items for M.A.S.H. (Mystic Area Shelter & Hospitality) and will be offering free hot dogs, popcorn and a moon bounce all day. "As a program working to prevent local children and families from being homeless, MASH relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses in the region. We are deeply grateful to Newport Fed for selecting MASH as a worthy organization to partner with as they open their new branch. We are always in need of supplies for our five shelters; everything from light bulbs, paper goods, and toiletries to cleaning supplies and small kitchen appliances and utensils are needed since we shelter families in fully equipped individual apartments." Stated
Natalie Burfoot Billing, President, MASH Board of Directors. “This will be a fun event for kids as well as adults. We are so excited to be in our new location in the Pawcatuck Farms development at 445 Liberty Street, we have the room to throw a party and the opportunity to help out M.A.S.H.” stated Mildred Dion, V.P. and Branch Manager at the new office of NewportFed. All are invited to this event and will have a chance to enter to win a $250, $100, and $50 gift cards to Stop & Shop.
