The “Concerts in the Park 2009” series continues Friday (July 17) in Washington Park in the City of Groton with the “Brass Kickin’ Rock N’ Soul” sounds of the band 9Teen. Concert time is 6:30 p.m.
The band 9Teen performs all over New England, playing everything from classic rock to funk to R&B to Steely Dan to Chicago to Earth, Wind and Fire, and Stevie Wonder.
The concert series is co-sponsored and co-produced by Groton Utilities and the City of Groton Parks and Recreation Department.
The band, High Times, a longtime local favorite, will be the featured band next week with a performance on Friday, July 24.
The concert with the Rock N’ Soul Revue, rained out earlier, has been rescheduled for Friday, August 21, at 6:30 p.m.

The concerts are designed to be especially appealing to families for a fun, inexpensive night out. Spectators are encouraged to bring their families and perhaps a picnic supper, since all the concerts are held during the early evening hours.
