Celebrate the Fall Equinox on September 25th at the Equinox Diner in Mystic & Receive a Free Meal Supporting the Charles W. Morgan Restoration Project at Mystic Seaport
Who said that there’s no such thing as a free breakfast, lunch or dinner? Jimmy Doukas, the owner of the Equinox Diner in Mystic, is more than excited about the upcoming fall equinox: he’s in a party mood. The ‘Fall Equinox Event,’ planned for Friday, September 25th is celebrating the arrival of fall at the Equinox Diner. This will be an all day and night revelry with every customer receiving a gift card matching the amount spent on that day. In other words, buy one, get one free!
“This celebration is for our guests. We provide a complementary gift card matching the amount that is spent with us,” Jimmy said excitedly. “We want to show our appreciation and the fall equinox is the perfect day to say thank you!”
The giving doesn’t end there. The Charles W. Morgan Restoration Project at Mystic Seaport will be receiving a portion of the events proceeds. “It is an honor and privilege that Equinox Diner can have a two fold event that supports both Mystic Seaport and our loyal guests. The event is even more gratifying to be able to help our community and give back during these challenging economic times.” explained Jimmy.
Michael O’Farrell, the Director of Public Relations expressed, “Mystic Seaport is grateful to the Equinox Diner for its generosity in helping us raise funds for the restoration of the Morgan. As a new member of the Mystic community, the Equinox Diner is working hard to establish roots and partnerships in the area—and we are grateful for its efforts on our behalf.”
The fall equinox is one of two days of the year during which there are 12 hours of light and 12 of darkness. It has been marked throughout the millennium as a time of transition, autumn and seasonal changes.
Since its opening, the Equinox Diner has been both a destination and a neighborhood favorite for diners with discerning palates and an appreciation for its friendly staff, high energy décor and fantastic value pricing. The freestanding diner has a full liquor license including a private dining room.
Jaime Williams, the General Manager enthused, “We are anticipating a huge turnout and Chef Luis Gonzalez Jr. has been cooking up a storm to create the perfect specials for the event. The excitement around our town incredible; you just can't beat this deal! Everyone wins, especially the Mystic community and our Equinox guests.”
The diner’s menu features breakfast all day and an enormous selection of lunch and dinner items such as the half-pound Angus burger which has the reputation as the best in Connecticut. The diner provides takeout for busy moms, dads and people on the go.
The Equinox bakes all desserts in house including, of course, their unforgettable and famous cheesecake. Other goodies include jasmine rice pudding, lemon meringue, coconut custard and fruit-filled pies, plus many other must-have diner favorites. The children’s menu includes both a meal and a beverage.
